"If you take of the roads that cross the famous Clifton Downs, Bristol´s most prized heritage and travel on toward the Severn Sea, you will come to the Eastfield Kennels.

Should you be interested in dogs you may be sure of a warm welcome from Mrs Moore and Miss Chenuz (born in Switzerland), and a look round the kennels and grounds will be a real pleasure. Quite likely you will have a desire to wander round the old-world garden and linger by the ancient sundial; then you will pass into the kennel domain and be greeted by a chorus of barks from the dogs.

Mrs Moore and Miss Chenuz devote themselves entirely to their big family of dogs. All their dogs also have to prove their worth with fox or badger, and the young ones have a master mind to work under in Ch Crick Hoodwink, who quite recently provided rare sport in turning out a 30 lb badger."

Crick Hoodwink was the early "big star" of the Eastfields

"The Eastfield Kennel is in the Sealyham world as well known as the Mansion House in the city of London, for nothing succeeds like success."

Mesdames Moore and Chenuz attended all the principal shown in the kingdom, either exhibiting or handling; they also took pupils, Terrier boarders and whelping cases. Miss Chenuz started as a handler. I believe she was Swiss by birth. In the thirties Miss Chenuz took over the kennel all by herself and continued to breed the Eastfields until the late 1960s. She died in the beginning of the 1970´s.

Ch Eastfield Candidate and some of his puppies, 1925

Ch Eastfield Candidate,  son of two champions,  was a great success both at shows and at stud. He left many champion dogs and bitches after him . He was the first early champion with the blue head markings. All who have these markings today descend from him.

The Eastfield success continued after Mrs Moore left the kennel. Miss Chenuz and her new help Miss Marriott (Bunny) continued to breed and show the Sealyhams as well as many other breeds.. They had Champion West Highland White Terriers, smooth Dachshounds, Pekingese, Scottish Terriers and many others.
